DURC in the Community
DURC values community and promotes the arts by performing in parades, at festivals, and for retirement communities. Our dancers give back by participating in Showcases throughout the year and leading specialized workshops. In addition to numerous outreach initiatives, DURC supports Other Voices, Inc.'s annual production of an original dance and theater adaptation of a literary classic featuring DURC dancers and regional professional actors. After over 20 years featuring The New Adventures of Alice in Wonderland, in 2022, The Wizard of Oz debuted on the Weinberg Center for the Arts stage. With choreography by Donna Grim and librettos by Susan Thornton and Steve Steele, The Wizard of Oz has become a favorite tradition in the Frederick Community.

The Wizard of Oz
DURC, in conjunction with Other Voices, Inc., takes audiences to the Land of Oz in this reimagined version of this classic tale that combines singing, original music, dance, and fun!
Kris Kringle Parade
The DURC Rockettes help kick off the holiday season at Frederick's annual Kris Kringle Parade. This crowd favorite always brings the holiday spirit to the Frederick community.

Wreaths Across America
This year, DURC again will honor those who served our country by placing wreaths on the graves of Frederick's service members. The DURC community will participate in this annual event on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Frederick's Mount Olivet Cemetery to recognize the country's heroes.
Buckingham's Choice
Back by popular demand! DURC dancers will bring holiday joy to the residents of Buckingham's Choice retirement community on Sunday, December 21. New this year will be a performance featuring selections from the Nutcracker ballet. The event will conclude with a presentation by the DURC Rockettes.

DURC Rockettes Workshop
DURC gives back to the community by teaching the next generation of dancers the ins and outs of being a DURC Rockette. This popular workshop introduced young dancers to new skills during a fun-filled afternoon.
Showcases
Performance opportunities are the key to improving stage presence and confidence. DURC dancers participate in a variety of informal showcases at the Performing Arts Factory in November through February. Flowers are available for purchase at the Performing Arts Factory on performance nights.
